Snakey Skin - Dialysis Tips

One of the side effects of dialysis is dry skin.  Makes sense since they are pulling fluid out of your body almost every other day.

No one told me about this side effect.  I saw it on a survey the social worker asked me to take.  I was thing, “why are they asking me if I have dry skin?”  At the time of that survey, I didn’t have any issues.  About 4 weeks later, I was scalier than a snake.

I recommend 2 things to prevent dry skin.

Moisturize!  Lather up in lotion all over your body.  Everyday!  I use Origins lotion.  It smells so good, it absorbs quickly, and it’s not oily.  https://www.origins.com/

Sugar Scrub!  The magic potion to get rid of any dry skin.  I use Tea Tree.  They have so many scents and my favorite scrub is Peach Sorbet.  I use it every time I shower. https://www.treehutshea.com/collections/body-scrubs

I strongly recommend getting into the habit of moisturizing and exfoliating.  This will certainly keep your skin smooth and soft through dialysis.
